I'm caring for me, who's 87. After worsening Parkinson's disease Farhan can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Farhan desperately wants to stay at home. I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Farhan worked all of his life as a nurse, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $650 goes: • Part-time carer (eight months): $450 • Medication and prescriptions: $80 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $50 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70 Thank you for reading my story.
