I'm caring for my father, who's 91. After a stroke last June Brian can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Brian desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Brian worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $2,000
• Medication and prescriptions: $440
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $460

You're not alone, Caroline. Wishing Brian a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Guarulhos
