Home care fund for Amira in Heliopolis
Amira, 78, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $600 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 78. After the death of her spouse Amira can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Amira desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Amira worked all of her life as a shopkeeper, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $600 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $470
• Medication and prescriptions: $55
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $45
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $30
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Heliopolis.
