Home care fund for Akash in San Jose
Akash, 74, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $4,500 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 74. After a stroke last July Akash can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Akash desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Akash worked all of his life as a nurse, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $4,500 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $610
• Medication and prescriptions: $640
• Part-time carer (four months): $3,250
