Usha was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in May. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,900, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $2,950 short. my mother has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since May. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,900 is more than we can find. While we wait, Usha struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Usha won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $2,950 goes: • Physiotherapy sessions: $380 • Post-operative medication: $260 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $1,850 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $460 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
