Hip replacement surgery for Tika: covering what insurance won't

Tika was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,450, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,000 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,450 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Tika struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Tika won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
