Sri was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in July. The surgeon at Jakarta Barat Regional Medical Center recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,700, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,200 short.
my mother has been in and out of Jakarta Barat Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,700 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Sri struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Sri won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
