Hip replacement surgery for Noor: covering what insurance won't
After a herniated spinal disc, Noor was cleared for hip replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Noor was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Luxor Community Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,000 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Luxor Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Noor struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Noor won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $90
• Travel and lodging for the family: $50
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $310
• Physiotherapy sessions: $110
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $440
I hope life is good to you.
