Lucie was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Toulon General Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,900, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $3,100 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Toulon General Hospital since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,900 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Lucie struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Lucie won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
