Chitra is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a teaching qualification at Bengaluru State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $700. The registrar has said Chitra can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Chitra has a distinction average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Chitra would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Chitra isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $700 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $290 • Final term tuition: $370 • Exam and lab fees: $10 • Textbooks and materials: $30 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Kiran

Updates from Kiran

Update from Bengaluru: I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. We're at 12% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($49 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
