Liliana was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in August. The surgeon at Rochester General Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $6,150 short.
my sister has been in and out of Rochester General Hospital since August. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Liliana struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Liliana won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
