Hip replacement surgery for Isabel: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled hip replacement surgery in June is out of reach without help covering $3,050 of the cost.

Isabel was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in February. The surgeon at Fort Worth Orthopedic Institute recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $3,050 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Fort Worth Orthopedic Institute since February. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Isabel struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Isabel won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $360
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $2,300
• Post-operative medication: $390
