After a large ovarian cyst, Hailey was cleared for hip replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Hailey was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in September. The surgeon at Birmingham General Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $12,500, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $6,200 short. my mother has been in and out of Birmingham General Hospital since September. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $12,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Hailey struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Hailey won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $6,200 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,600 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $2,200 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $510 • Post-operative medication: $210 • Physiotherapy sessions: $340 • Travel and lodging for the family: $340 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
