Do-hyun was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in July. The surgeon at Incheon University Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,750, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $5,250 short. my son has been in and out of Incheon University Hospital since July. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Do-hyun struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Do-hyun won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $5,250 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,100 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $1,950 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $210 • Post-operative medication: $300 • Physiotherapy sessions: $510 • Travel and lodging for the family: $180 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
