Asad was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in June. The surgeon at Peshawar Orthopedic Institute recommended hip replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,650, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,000 short. my son has been in and out of Peshawar Orthopedic Institute since June. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,650 is more than we can find. While we wait, Asad struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Asad won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $1,000 goes: • Physiotherapy sessions: $55 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $470 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $410 • Travel and lodging for the family: $65 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Sadia
