After a benign brain tumor, Amber was cleared for hip replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Amber was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in August. The surgeon at Saint Catherine Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $12,500, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $6,200 short. my mother has been in and out of Saint Catherine Hospital since August. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $12,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Amber struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Amber won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $6,200 goes: • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $540 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,400 • Post-operative medication: $370 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,300 • Physiotherapy sessions: $590 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Harold
