Henry was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in January. The oncology team at Lagos Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Henry is 55, worked as a bank teller until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,750 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150 • Scans and lab work: $175 • Transport to Lagos Cancer Centre: $80 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $50 • Household costs while unable to work: $295 I hope life is good to you.
