Help Zlata keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Odesa.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 338 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Odesa market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $700 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $165
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $440
• Refrigeration and electricity: $95

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Zlata.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. fresh vegetables and fruit is the biggest at $165. Happy to explain more.
