Help Zahra keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
The the Second Helping pantry in Jakarta is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Monday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 217 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 30% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Jakarta market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $240
• Baby formula and diapers: $85
• Refrigeration and electricity: $75
With deep gratitude,
Zahra

Rooting for you, Zahra. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you!
