Help Yuki keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Shinjuku.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Wednesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 85 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 51% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Shinjuku market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $960
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $740
• Baby formula and diapers: $370
• Refrigeration and electricity: $180
