Help Yodchai keep the Neighbors' Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Bang Khen.
🇹🇭 Bang Khen, Bangkok, Thailand888 views
Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 19 families, and now we feed 111 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bang Khen market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $170
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $175
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
• Refrigeration and electricity: $80
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
