Help Yasir keep the Community Pantry pantry stocked
The Community Pantry pantry in Heliopolis is running low just as demand rises; $500 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Monday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 297 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 59% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Heliopolis market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $240
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $125
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
• Refrigeration and electricity: $55
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
Updates from Yasir
Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($83). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled.
