Woo-jin was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in July. The surgeon at Seoul Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,350, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $3,250 short. my father has been in and out of Seoul Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,350 is more than we can find. While we wait, Woo-jin struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks.
