Wilfredo was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in May. The surgeon at Manila Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,250 short. my father has been in and out of Manila Community Hospital since May. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Wilfredo struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Wilfredo won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,250 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $610 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $380 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $105 • Post-operative medication: $35 • Physiotherapy sessions: $70 • Travel and lodging for the family: $50 Thank you so much. - Gianna

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Wilfredo.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. surgeon and anesthesia fees comes first ($610) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
