Help Wendy keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Manchester.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom1,697 views
Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 169 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 48% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Manchester market and keep every receipt.
Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $690
• Baby formula and diapers: $350
• Refrigeration and electricity: $210
Glad we found this place.

hope it all works out. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope July is when things finally get easier. Take care
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Wendy.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is the biggest at $1,650. Thanks, that means a lot.
Wishing you peace, Wendy. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Jimma donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
Best of luck, Wendy. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Bellevue but we're thinking of you.
