Wellington is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at the Guarulhos Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,250.
The registrar has said Wellington can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Wellington has a top-ten-percent average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Wellington would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Wellington isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
