Help Waylon keep the Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry stocked

The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in San Diego is running low just as demand rises; $3,100 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 27 families, and now we feed 386 each week. Donations have dropped by about 42% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Diego market and keep every receipt. Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $3,100 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $710 • Baby formula and diapers: $570 • Refrigeration and electricity: $170 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Waylon
