Wagner was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Feira de Santana Community Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,300, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,050 short.
my brother has been in and out of Feira de Santana Community Hospital since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Wagner struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Wagner won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.

It's all in the list in the story. pre-operative tests and imaging is the big one at $130, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. It helps to be asked.
