Vikash is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a nursing degree at Paarl Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,600. The registrar has said Vikash can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Vikash has a 3.9 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Vikash would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Vikash isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Paarl Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,600 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $710 • Final term tuition: $770 • Exam and lab fees: $55 • Textbooks and materials: $65 If you're reading this, thank you. - Sipho F

  • Thanks for sharing this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
