The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Toulon is running low just as demand rises; $2,550 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 235 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 51% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Toulon market and keep every receipt.
Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $270
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $740
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,540

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Véronique.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. baby formula and diapers comes first ($270) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.
