Padma, my wife, passed away on 23 July after a short illness. She was 90 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $700 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 3 August.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Padma to have a dignified farewell.

The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt.

• Funeral home services and casket: $350
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $270
• Transport of the deceased: $25
