Help Venkat keep his home - 3 months behind on rent
A car accident left Venkat short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 12 weeks, Venkat fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $600.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by January, the family must leave.
There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Venkat has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $390
• Late fees and court costs: $55
• Utilities in arrears: $20
• First month of rent as a buffer: $135

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rent arrears (3 months) comes first ($390) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
