București

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 183 each week. Donations have dropped by about 52% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the București market and keep every receipt. Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $750 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $110 • Baby formula and diapers: $230 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $410 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Vasile

Updates from Vasile

Good news. Because of your gifts ($484 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
41% there. I made the first payment toward baby formula and diapers. Thank you.
