Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Monday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 229 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 58% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Nagpur market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $250 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $150
• Refrigeration and electricity: $40
• Baby formula and diapers: $60
Glad we found this place.

everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Nagpur.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Vani.
It's all in the list in the story. fresh vegetables and fruit is the big one at $150, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Appreciate you taking the time.
You're not alone, Vani. Hope you get there. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Jakarta!
Sending strength. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Hồ Chí Minh City but we're thinking of you. Love from Hồ Chí Minh City
