Urvashi was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in September. The oncology team at Pune University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Urvashi is 54, worked as a farmer until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Pune University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $750 goes: • Scans and lab work: $230 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $450 Thank you so much.

Updates from Pooja

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($125 in total) the plan for chemotherapy and medication not covered is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Pooja
