Uğur is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Istanbul State College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,200.
The registrar has said Uğur can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Uğur has a top-ten-percent average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Uğur would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Uğur isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Istanbul State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $20
• Final term tuition: $840
• Outstanding tuition balance: $340
I hope life is good to you.

Good luck, Okan. Shared it with a few friends. Love from Warsaw
Sending strength, Okan. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from San Diego.
Rooting for you, Okan. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Istanbul.
