Tyler was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in March. The surgeon at Cincinnati General Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $7,400 short.
my father has been in and out of Cincinnati General Hospital since March. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Tyler struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Tyler won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
