Tuấn was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in April. The oncology team at Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Tuấn is 30, worked as a shop owner until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,200
• Scans and lab work: $240
• Transport to Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital: $70
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $75
• Household costs while unable to work: $315
