Help Thiện keep his home - 2 months behind on rent
The loss of a second income left Thiện short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.
🇻🇳 Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa, Vietnam229 views
When my hours were cut in half in August, Thiện fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Friday a termination letter was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $550.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Thiện has started working extra hours at a market stall, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $550 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $130
• Late fees and court costs: $25
• Rent arrears (2 months): $395
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

So sorry you're going through this, Hiền. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Messina this morning. Thinking of Nha Trang.
a colleague of mine might know someone for this in Khánh Hòa. I'll ask around and let you know!
How is Thiện doing now?
Thanks for sharing this, Hiền. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together.
Sending love. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
Best of luck. I hope things turn around soon!
