Help Themba keep the Neighbors' Pantry pantry stocked
The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in Soweto is running low just as demand rises; $800 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Tuesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 129 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 38% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Soweto market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $800 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $70
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $590
• Baby formula and diapers: $140
I hope life is good to you.
Updates from Themba
Update from Soweto: the first invoice got paid this week. We're at 12% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($80 in total) I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
