Sylvie was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in July. The surgeon at Boulogne-Billancourt University Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,800 short.

While we wait, Sylvie struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
