Scranton

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 138 each week. Donations have dropped by about 50% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Scranton market and keep every receipt. Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $2,200 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $830 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $710 • Baby formula and diapers: $290 • Refrigeration and electricity: $370 Thank you for reading my story.

Updates from Stephanie

Small update. $642 so far, I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 16% funded and the plan for baby formula and diapers is now scheduled.
