Help Sophie keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Duisburg is running low just as demand rises; $2,550 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Monday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 92 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 56% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Duisburg market and keep every receipt.
Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,250
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $680
• Baby formula and diapers: $390
• Refrigeration and electricity: $230
