Help Sivan keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked

The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Beersheba is running low just as demand rises; $2,000 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Beersheba

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 238 each week. Donations have dropped by about 37% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Beersheba market and keep every receipt. Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,000 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,050 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $510 • Baby formula and diapers: $330 • Refrigeration and electricity: $110 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Updates from Sivan

Thank you all. We're at 12% now ($235). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($165 in total) the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
