Help Shirley keep the the Harvest Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Sheffield.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Saturday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 271 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Sheffield market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $820
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,300
• Baby formula and diapers: $470
• Refrigeration and electricity: $210

Thank you all. We're at 5% now ($128). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($138 in total) the plan for fresh vegetables and fruit is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
