Help Shilpa through 4 rounds of treatment for kidney cancer
Shilpa is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Shilpa was diagnosed with kidney cancer in February. The oncology team at San Jose University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in May. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Shilpa is 29, worked as a shop owner until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Jose University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $11,300 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,000
• Scans and lab work: $1,100
• Transport to San Jose University Hospital: $1,000
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $620
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,580

What exactly is the $11,300 for?
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the biggest at $7,000. I'll keep the page updated.
