Shilpa was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in July. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,100, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,250 short.
my wife has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since July. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Shilpa struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Shilpa won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Shilpa
Sure. The biggest one is post-operative medication, $35. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
