Help Shefali keep the Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Gazipur.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Saturday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 64 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Gazipur market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $200 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $145
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
• Baby formula and diapers: $30
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Wishing you peace, Shefali. Great idea, hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Pasig.
Sending good thoughts. Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Peoria so I could bring a meal
Best of luck. This could happen to any of us. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Sent it to 24 people at work. Take care

It takes guts to ask. Well done. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Spanish Town.
rooting for you. Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings.
Thinking of you and your family, Shefali. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in.
Looking forward to the next update. Put this on a community board in Kikuyu this morning. God bless!
Hang in there, Shefali. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Faisalabad.
