Help Sharon keep the the Sunday Shelf pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Greensboro.
🇺🇸 Greensboro, North Carolina, United States1,071 views
Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 23 families, and now we feed 73 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Greensboro market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,450
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,100
• Baby formula and diapers: $390
• Refrigeration and electricity: $160
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

I hope things turn around soon. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Greensboro.
best of luck, Sharon. Hope this works out for you.
Hope things get better soon, Sharon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 20 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Mysuru.
So sorry you're going through this, Sharon. More neighborhoods should do this. I'll check back for the next update!
