Sébastien is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an accounting degree at Grenoble Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,500.
The registrar has said Sébastien can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Sébastien has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Sébastien would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Sébastien isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Final term tuition: $1,250
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,050
• Textbooks and materials: $200
Thanks for being kind about this.
